College of Kuilsriver - Origin

Previously called "Distinctive Academic & E-Learning Centre"(Established 2006).

The Institution was founded on 24 April 2006, by Dr Alister Arendse (Doctor of Science - IT) and Mrs Janap Arendse. As qualified professionals, Dr Alister Arendse, who is one of only a few Doctor of Science (IT) professionals in South Africa,  and Janap Arendse Senior Educator, respectively in these fields, they discovered a need for acadamic and electronic learning services in our society. The feasability of the business has been tested by the market research conduct.

 The following skills gaps have been identified, these include: Matric (Grade 12), mathematics, computer literacy, advanced computer training, goal setting, teambuilding, leadership management, managing diversity, financial management, entreperneurship, project management and HIV/AIDS skills courses.

After 6 months of existence in 2006, it was evident that the centre was achieving its goals and objectives. There were 120 learners who graduated in December 2006 for the following courses: Study skills for self development, Computer Literacy and application, Basic computer Training and advanced computer training.

 Changed name to College of Kuilsriver (PTY) LTD in January 2007. The name change was due to the institutes continual growth and development in supporting the growing needs of learners. The college now offers a National Certification in Information Technology: End-User Computing, from level 2-4 and Skills Development Courses.
